LAF SLS recently hosted our first-ever Management Team Retreat in Wilmington, NC. From Colorado, New York, Thailand, and across the state, our management team came together for a fun-filled weekend of professional development and team building.
We kicked off the weekend with dinner at a famous local hot spot, catching up, sharing stories, and setting the tone for the rest of the weekend.
We kicked off our professional development activities with a meeting with our guest speaker, Zach Betsy, focusing on insights and strategies for recruiting interpreters through our Interpreter Placement Program, and then we headed to a conference room for our official retreat session.
The team was surprised with personalized gifts and swag from LAF SLS. As a team we were able to reflect on all that has been accomplished this year. We also identified areas of strength and areas that could use improvement.
We discussed strategies for how we can continue to grow and also how we can best serve our clients and interpreters.
Of course there were plenty of photo ops along the way.
As we wrapped up our weekend we were able to spend one last evening together reflecting on why we love working together, and why we love supporting the LAF SLS mission which is to be a resource and to provide services for interpreters and for school districts who are supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
