Setting Up Interpreting Services

Mac Spike's shares his experience setting up interpreting services with LAFSLS.

[Mr. Spikes]. It is very challenging to find an interpreter because we are mandated to provide special services, but interpreters are hard to find and particularly it's compounded by a district that is rural and is small, and so reaching out and searching for an interpreter, and advertising for an interpreter is very difficult.

The process of setting up the technology was really easy working with LAF>. We had laptops, we had chromebooks, and we were doing some virtual activities already so it was very easy for us to transition and utilize LAF.

They were very good about setting up an initial meeting and meeting with us to ensure that the principal, the special ed teacher, the regular ed teacher, and myself, that we felt comfortable with it. They showed us a model and walked us through the process. So the technonlogy was very easy to set up.
