Tops Signs for the Classroom - Part III

In Part III of the series Top Signs for the Classroom, learn more helpful signs that you can use to communicate directly with your deaf students in ASL.

Look for to Part IV of the series coming soon!

[Lillah Harris] Hello and welcome back to part three

of our series, The Top Signs for Teachers to Use in the Classroom.

Today, I'll show you four more signs to help you communicate directly with

your deaf and hard of hearing students. The first sign that I want to show you today is "wait".

This is a five handshape in front of your body facing you and wiggling your fingers. Wait.

Notice that facial expressions are also very important when we're using

sign language. "Wait"

The next sign is "ready". Both hands with an "R" handshape. "Ready?"

"Are you ready?"

The next sign is "stop". "Wait, stop!" "Stop"

And the last sign is a thumbs up on a flat hand shape, "Help".

This can be used in many different ways. "Help me." "Help you."

"Do you need help?"

Thanks for learning with me, and I look forward to part four.
